Coincidence

 I live in a county with a population of almost 600,000 people.

Four years ago, I took Spanish I at Edison State College. There were 20 people or so in the class. One of my classmates that I got to know a little bit was a man I estimated to be in his late 30s or early 40s. I think I found out then that he was an attorney as well as a Christian, and that he also taught classes at the college.

Soon after that, I was working for Kelly Services, the international temp agency, and for one or two days they placed me at Florida Rural Legal Services to answer the telephone. That same man was working there at the time.

Today I had jury duty at the county courthouse and was eventually rejected after being questioned in the courtroom. The rub? The judge for the particular trial that I was randomly assigned to was the same guy from my class and the agency.

I do not live in a small town, and there are many attorneys here. There is no higher purpose to this post; I just thought it was bizarre.

i'm rec'ing it b/ c i will be interested on the feedback.  and, i will also want an update if there are ever further coincidences like this in your life. keep me posted! =)

wow, that is bizarre. i dont want to get you thinking in an area you maybe shouldn't, but i thought of Ruth in Boaz's field, Rebekah w/ Abraham/Isaac's servant.  though, sometimes it is just a series of coincidences which don't lead to anything. still..let me know if you run into this man again. lol =)

@YouTOme -

Um, no. 20 year age difference, and I specifically refrained from mentioning that in class I really couldn't stand him AT ALL. There's nothing "bad" about him technically, but, NO! Definitely not. Think Mr. Collins in Pride and Prejudice. You are so precious to think something like that for me, though. Thank you! I love you a whole bunch.

@Pickwick12 - hahha. well, one never knows.....  and, its kind of funny b/c i've known relationships to start out that way...where the woman absolutely could not stand the man. hahha. =)   well, i hope that is not the case b/c of the fact you don't like him like that,....but then, i'm not God..so i do not know. lol.

That is odd.   Bizarre.  Although nothing happens by chance.   Everything happens for a reason , no?   And is that the reason you were rejected from jury duty? - because the judge knew you from a class?

Well, suffice to say, he's one of the most obnoxious people I have ever met in my entire life.

No, I got rejected because I had prior involvement with something to do with the case itself. You get rejected for knowing the other people involved, but since the judge isn't arguing anything, I guess knowing him wouldn't matter.

@Pickwick12 - uh oh....j/k!  no, actually there was a guy i kept running into...2 work places, he taught at the college i was attending, and then we went to the same church. when i first met him i thought he was the most arrogant man i ever met..and obnoxious. later he tried to get me to go out with me, but i was preoccupied w/ work/school/daughter. still later i was for a fraction in time interested but found out he was about to become engaged. i ended up leaving due to just being disgusted with the single's group...very cliquish and gossipy.  so maybe things happened for a reason, but i definitely am glad for how things worked out. molly and i were very blessed at my parent's church for a very long time.

so your coincidences may not necessarily be romantic in nature at all. far from it.  beware! lol

My suggestion is to pray over it and see why God had you cross his path that many times. He may or may not answer you, but it is worth a try asking Him.

@Christenstein -

You bet! I can definitely pray for him, since he's a Christian brother in high position.
