| | I don't know you. Until a short time ago, I didn't want to know you or have anything to do with you. I thought you would hurt me and use me up. But now I know that you are far more wonderful than anything I have ever imagined you could be.
I'm not like a lot of girls, I guess. I don't have very many expectations for you. You don't have to be rich or gorgeous. You don't have to be able to captivate a crowd with your wit or fix a car without help. You don't have to be important or famous. You just have to be you. And nowadays, I'm beginning to think I'll know when I find you.
I already know you will love God, and the first thing I'll see is Him. I already know you'll be gentle and kind and polite, just like my daddy. I know you'll be witty in that understated way, because that's what makes me feel all fluttery. I know you'll be protective and that when I'm with you I'll feel safe from the world. And I know you'll be individual, because what I love most in a man is the confidence to be himself, regardless of what everyone else wants.
And I know you'll be a good father to our children. You won't be perfect, and I don't expect that. But you'll be perfect for me and a gift to our kids.
It's hard to imagine sharing my life with another person or being entrusted with new lives, but I know I won't be confronting those challenges alone. Let's just be. And let's have fun. I love you.
